Call or text (937) 935-4292 to start

One phone number, a real person, and a straight answer about what we can do. Intake at Peak of Hope starts with a conversation — never an online form.

Hours and requirements

  • Call or text (937) 935-4292 any time, 24/7. Staff respond when available.
  • Current intake hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m..
  • Calling and texting are available 24/7. Shelter entry is not — Peak of Hope is a residential shelter program, not a 24/7 walk-in shelter.
  • A photo ID or legal paperwork confirming your identity is required to enter the program. An expired ID is fine — it does not have to be current.
  • Intake hours may change once our Shelter Coordinator is hired.

What happens next

What to expect when you reach out

Peak of Hope answers calls and texts from Logan County neighbors in a housing crisis. Here is the whole process.

    1. You call or text

Tell us your name and what is happening. If you reach voicemail, leave a callback number — we return intake messages as quickly as we can.

    2. We ask a few questions

Household size, immediate safety, and any medical or accessibility needs. We ask only what we need to place you well.

    3. We check availability honestly

If we have space, we schedule your intake during intake hours. If we are full or a program is closed, we say so immediately and help you look at other options.

    4. You get a plan, not just a bed

Program participation is required. Residents work with staff on next steps toward stable housing — documents, income, and referrals to Logan County partners.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

How do I get into the shelter?
Call or text (937) 935-4292 any time, 24/7, and staff will respond when available. Intake itself happens during current intake hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A staff member will ask a few questions about your situation, check current availability, and explain the next step. There is no online waitlist form.
Can I walk in at any hour?
No. Calling and texting are available 24/7, but shelter entry is not. Peak of Hope is a residential shelter program rather than a 24/7 walk-in shelter, so entry happens through intake during current intake hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Those hours may change once our Shelter Coordinator is hired.
Do you charge to stay at Peak of Hope Shelter?
No. Shelter at Peak of Hope is provided at no cost to residents. Participation in the program is required, and staff work alongside each resident to address the barriers keeping them out of housing.
What should I bring with me?
A photo ID or legal paperwork confirming your identity is required. The ID may be expired — it does not need to be current. Also bring any medications and a small bag of personal essentials. If you are unsure what paperwork you have, call or text us and we will talk it through.
Can I bring my children?
We serve families with minor children through our women and family program, and availability depends on current capacity. Call or text (937) 935-4292 and we will tell you honestly what is available and help you look at other options if we cannot help right away.
Who is eligible for the program?
We serve Logan County residents, with priority given to people living in places not meant for human habitation. That includes single men, single women, and families with minor children.
What if the shelter is full?
Call us anyway. We coordinate with other Logan County agencies and can point you toward other options. You can also dial 211 for a broader list of community resources, and 911 in an emergency.
